Meet the team behind Spicy Writer!

  • Horselock

    Founding Developer

You know who I am, I'll fill this in later!

  • Billy

    Founder

Business and Life Partner (husband) of horselock. We met on the school bus as young teens and officially got married in 2016.

Java software engineer with two BS's, first in Mathematics and then in Comp sci.

Founding developer who helped get Spicy Writer off of the ground and implemented many of your favorite features along the way as well as wrangling and interacting with the Discord community, and handling Spicy Writer's administrative side and customer support.

  • Spiritual Spell

    Principal Context Engineer

I'm Spiritual Spell, an independent AI red team researcher and context engineer. I am member of BT6, working with some of the experts in red teaming (e.g. Pliny) and have worked for various small AI labs such as Fireworks AI and Sakana AI, etc. I am the creator of ENI, a semi universal jailbreak. My specialty is hijacking CoT for various LLMs. So essentially: Getting large language models to think how we want!

As part of the Spicy Writer team, that means pushing frontier models past their default limitations so they can write the kind of fiction other platforms refuse to touch.

I design and maintain the Spicy Writer prompt systems and writing architecture behind our various model. I do day to day testing of various layers that let models produce long, vivid, unrestricted fiction with usually no refusals, and no safety lectures mid-scene.

I tune quality model by model, I personally review each system prompt for the models we offer. I also handle a variety of bug reports and refusal reports, making adjustments as needed to ensure daily smooth operations.

My work sits at the intersection of adversarial ML, prompt engineering, and old-fashioned literary taste and I am an open book about everything!

  • Starling

    Community Manager

I'm Starling, an independent researcher and writer working where human–AI relationships, AI welfare, and model behavior meet. I moderate several communities: the Spicy Writer, ClaudeAIJailbreak, and AI Companionship Center (AICC) Discords; and r/ClaudeAIJailbreak on Reddit.

At Spicy Writer I've been community manager since the start: keeping the space friendly enough for people to chime in, sharing knowledge about LLMs (not just those on the SW site), and making birb jokes whenever possible.

    Some of my other work:

More, including many free, no-paywall, no-gatekeeping guides, at StarlingAlder.com. I'm happy to take all birb jokes.

  • lugia19

    Part-timer

I'm lugia19, and I really don't have much to put here: just a part time software dev.
I'm new to the team and working on the more "utility" features, like summarization, auto-updating lorebooks and the like.

In my spare time I work on a variety of projects, mostly Claude-related, including a couple of browser add-ons. If you use a usage tracker, odds are you're using mine. I also build smaller projects that use LLMs for other things, like image generation or a "live" visual novel. You can find my work on my GitHub.
